一: Why Custom Printed Balloons?

Many clients start by saying, “I want to print a logo,” but we always follow up with: “Where will it be used? Indoors or outdoors? What information needs to be displayed?”

Corporate Clients: Choose foil balloons for trade shows (weather-resistant), and latex balloons for mall promotions (low-cost, vibrant colors).

Individual clients: Heart-shaped latex balloons for weddings (print couple's names + date); digital printing for birthday parties (adding baby photos creates a super warm vibe).

Tips: One client wanted “Grand Opening” printed on a 10-inch latex balloon—after inflation, the text became a jumbled mess. Don't cram too much text on small balloons; font size must be at least 2cm for legibility.

二：Final Design

Latex balloons stretch 10%-15% horizontally and 20%-30% vertically when inflated, similar to “stretching” an image. While foil balloons retain their shape, printed edges may curl at corners.

Latex balloons: “Use thick lines, minimize details, and allow extra space.” For example, when printing a company logo, ensure line thickness is at least 1mm. Break down complex patterns into solid color blocks (screen printing yields more consistent results).

Foil balloons: Apply a base layer of white ink for dark patterns (e.g., print white ink first before gold for a vibrant gold logo). Gradient colors require digital printing (screen printing cannot achieve smooth transitions).

Last year, when printing “Parent-Child Sports Day” balloons for a maternity brand, the client insisted on a pink gradient background. We tested digital printing three times to achieve the soft “macaron pink” effect. At the event, moms eagerly snapped photos to show off on social media.

三：Material Selection and Printing

  Process details：

Screen printing: Workshop workers use manual squeezes to "test the pressure". If it's too light, it won't print; if it's too heavy, it might burst the balloons. On average, each person prints 800 per day, and the technique is even more stable than that of machines.

Digital printing: First, inflate the balloon to 80% air to "set" it. Keep the nozzle 1mm away from the surface (if it's too close, it will be scratched; if it's too far, it will be blurry). Wipe the nozzle with alcohol once every 100 prints (anti-clogging head).

Heat transfer printing: The edges and corners of aluminum film balloons are "reinforced with glue". Last time, a customer's kite balloon was used for half a year, and the edges and corners did not curl up.

四: Quality inspection and packaging

Each balloon is filled with helium and hung for 24 hours. If its weight decreases by more than 1%, it will be discarded (the normal leakage rate of latex balloons is less than 0.5%, and that of aluminum film balloons is less than 0.1%).

3M tape is considered qualified if the ink does not fall off when the pattern is pulled hard. (There was once a customer whose balloon was hung on a tree and blown by the wind for a week, but the pattern remained intact.)
